What we collect through this site, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

The short version

  • We only get what you choose to send us, through the form, by email or by text, plus the basic technical logs every website gets.
  • We use it to reply to you and follow up on what you asked about. Nothing else.
  • We don't sell it, rent it out or use it for advertising.
  • This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct or delete what we have about you.

Who we are

This site, electofusion.com, is run by The Heat Exchange Corporation, the Louisville, Kentucky company behind Electofusion (“we” or “us”). We're responsible for the personal information you share with us here.

What we collect

What you send us

When you use the contact form, email us or text us, we get whatever you choose to share. The form asks for:

  • your name and email address
  • your phone number and the name of your business, if you want to give them
  • what you'd like help with
  • for kitchens and other sites that vent heat: where the heat comes from, a rough range for your monthly electric bill, and your city and state, all optional
  • anything else you put in your message

Please don't send us sensitive information such as bank details, Social Security numbers or health information. We don't need it.

What your browser sends

Like every website, this one runs on a hosting provider whose servers automatically log basic technical details when your browser asks for a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that linked you here, and the date and time. Those logs keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to work out who you are.

What we don't collect

There are no accounts or logins here, and we don't sell anything through the site, so we never ask for payment details. Reserving a spot in our community round, or investing in it, happens on Wefunder rather than here, and Wefunder's own privacy policy covers what you share there.

Cookies

This site doesn't use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. It doesn't embed videos, social media feeds or other outside content that would let another company follow you here, and its fonts are hosted with the site rather than fetched from a third party.

The one exception may be a strictly necessary security cookie that our hosting provider sets to block automated attacks. It isn't used to track you.

If we ever add analytics or anything else that uses cookies, we'll ask for your permission first.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • reply to you, answer your questions and, if you ask for one, put together a free estimate
  • follow up on what you asked about, such as a possible install or the community round
  • keep the site working and secure
  • meet our legal obligations, for example if a court orders us to share something

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing texts unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We only share it:

  • with companies that provide services to us, like our website host and our email and phone providers. They may only use it to provide those services.
  • when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our company, our customers or others
  • if our company is merged, acquired or sells its assets, in which case the new owner has to keep treating your information in line with this policy

We never share phone numbers, or anyone's consent to receive texts, with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your messages and estimate details for as long as we need them to talk with you and follow up, then delete them, unless we have to keep them longer for legal, tax or accounting reasons, for example if you become a customer. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

Our hosting provider keeps server logs for a limited time for security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we have about you, and send you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete it
  • stop contacting you

Email theheatexchangecorp@gmail.com or text 502-443-2080. We'll reply within 30 days, and we may need to confirm it's really you first. If we can't do what you asked, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to reconsider by replying.

These choices are open to everyone, wherever you live, and we won't treat you differently for using them. Depending on where you are, for example Kentucky, California, the EU or the UK, local privacy law may give you further rights, and we'll honor those too.

If you're in the EU or UK

Data protection law there asks us to explain the legal basis for using your information. We reply to you and prepare estimates because you asked us to, as a step towards a possible contract, and because we have a legitimate interest in answering questions about our business. We keep server logs because of our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Sometimes we keep or share information because the law requires it.

You also have the right to object to how we use your information, to restrict it, to receive it in a portable format, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We don't track visitors across sites or over time, and no other company does it through this site, so there's nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.

Children

This site is for business owners, investors and other adults. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we'll delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us: the site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and your messages are seen only by our small team. No website or inbox is perfectly secure, though, so please keep sensitive details out of the form and email.

Where your information is stored

We're based in the United States, and the services we use may store and process information in the US and other countries. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be handled in the US, where privacy law may differ from the law where you live.

Links to other sites

This site links to Wefunder, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok. We don't embed anything from them, so they don't learn about your visit unless you follow a link. Once you do, their own privacy policies apply.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, for example using your information in a new way, we'll make that clear on the site and ask for your permission where the law requires it.
